The large cut out displaying the image and name of Prime Ministerial Candidate of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Sajith Premadasa at the party’s Head Office in Ethul Kotte will not be taken down as instructed by the National Election Commission yesterday (25), former Parliamentarian Ajith P. Perera said.
Perera said the decision had been informed to the National Election Commission in writing yesterday.
The party intends to arrive at a decision on the matter by holding a discussion with the Commission over the next few days, he added.
However, officials from the National Election Commission who had visited the Samagi Jana Balawegaya Head Office in Ethul Kotte yesterday said the image and name of Premadasa cannot be displayed as he is a candidate contesting the upcoming General Election. (Newswire)
