President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has announced that the pre-school system will be placed under a ministry in the future to resolve existing issues.
The President made the observation when attending a political rally organized by Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) members in Matara today.
President Rajapaksa stated via Facebook that pre- school teachers from multiple districts had brought to his attention the various issues faced by them during his recent election campaign tours.
As an initial measure, the Government has already decided to provide a monthly salary to pre-school teachers, he pointed out.
President Rajapaksa, highlighting the importance of pre-schools in the country, added that the pre-school system will be placed under a ministry following the establishment of a new Government. (Newswire)
