The Weligama Police has arrested a 27-year-old female tuition teacher on suspicion over the alleged sexual abuse of a teenager.
The arrest had been made following a complaint filed by the parents of the victim, who is a 15-year-old boy.
The teenager is reported to have attended classes at the teacher’s residence on the 06th of October. As the child had not returned home following the class, the mother of the child had arrived at the teacher’s residence to inquire on his whereabouts.
The teacher’s mother had then informed the child’s parent that both the child and teacher were not at the house.
The teenager’s mother had thereafter filed a complaint with the Weligama Police on the missing child.
investigations had revealed that the teacher had taken the child along with her to sexually abuse him.
The teacher and the child had thereafter reported to the Police on Monday (12) after being summoned by the Police.
The teenager had confessed to the Police that the woman had taken him to hotels in Colombo and Kandy.
The female tuition teacher was thereafter arrested based on the child’s statement. (NewsWire)
