INTERPOL red notice issued to 129 wanted Sri Lankan criminals

Red notices have been issued through INTERPOL for 129 Sri Lankans who are currently overseas.

Police Spokesman Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Ajith Rohana said the Sri Lankans are wanted for various crimes.

He said the group includes 40 offenders wanted for financial crimes and 24 suspects wanted for crimes committed in Sri Lanka.

DIG Ajith Rohana further said that blue notices have been issued to 87 wanted suspects who have sought refuge overseas.

Stating that a majority of the criminals are currently in Dubai in the UAE, the Police Spokesman said some are reportedly hiding in India and European countries. (NewsWire)
