A suspect involved in a robbery in Wellampitiya recently has been hospitalized following a shootout with the Police this afternoon.
Police Spokesman Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Ajith Rohana said the suspect has been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.
The suspect is among four men who had broken into a house in the Welewatta area in Wellampitiya, and had stolen a gold necklace.
DIG Ajith Rohana said the suspect apprehended by the Police had sustained injuries to his foot in the shootout. (NewsWire)
