The body of a female school student was recovered from the Upper Kotmale Dam today.
The deceased has been identified as a 16-year-old girl from the Rathnillakele area in Thalawakele.
Investigations have revealed that the teenager had left her residence at 06.30 am today.
The Police said area residents have seen the girl jumping off a bridge constructed across the Upper Kotmale Dam, into the water.
They said it is suspected that the teenager may have died by suicide due to a conflict with her family. (NewsWire)
