Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has called for the release of freelance photojournalist Malika Abeykoon.
The RFS said Abeykoon was arrested while covering a protest by health workers that was staged in Colombo earlier this week.
The international media rights group alleged that Abeykoon had reportedly been assaulted by the Police.
The RFS said Abeykoon who has been remanded till Monday (12), must be released.
The group further emphasized that journalism was not a crime. (NewsWire)
