Three suspects have been arrested in Kurunegala in connection to the ringleader of the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks Zahran Hashim.
The Police said the father-in-law of Hashim was among the suspects arrested by the Terrorism Investigations Division (TID) yesterday.
The suspects were arrested from the Kekunagolla area in Kuliyapitiya, Kurunegala for attending classes on extremism that were conducted by Hashim.
The Police said a large number of Muslim youths had been forced to attend classes conducted by Hashim in various areas in the country.
A number of suspects have already been arrested in connection to the offence.
The three suspects arrested by the TID, aged 40, 52, and 55, have been moved to the TID headquarters in Colombo.
The Police said the TID intends to obtain a detention order against the three men to conduct further investigations. (NewsWire)
