SLC releases details on charity match between Sri Lanka Greats XI & Team Sri Lanka

A charity Twenty-20 cricket match will be played between Sri Lanka Greats XI and Team Sri Lanka, the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC announced today.

Issuing a statement, the SLC said the charity match will be played on the 4th of May at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy from 07pm.

The SLC said the funds raised out of the proposed T20 game will be directed to help Sri Lanka’s response towards fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Sri Lanka Greats XI will comprise of former legendary Sri Lankan cricketers, including the players from the team, which won the 1996 Cricket World Cup.

The ‘Team Sri Lanka’ will comprise of players representing the National, Emerging, and Development Squads of Sri Lanka Cricket, the SLC said.

Sri Lanka Cricket further said the T20 game will commence at 07.00 pm at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium and will be shown live, both in Sri Lanka and overseas. (NewsWire)
