Health authorities confirm that another pregnant woman has died while being treated for Covid 19 at the ICU of Karapitiya teaching hospital in Galle.
This is considered as the 2nd death reported of a pregnant woman in the country, due to complications of Covid 19.
While being treated at the ICU of the Mulleriyawa hospital, the woman had been transferred to the Intensive care unit of the Karapitiya hospital as her condition turned critical.
The deceased woman had delivered a stillborn baby few days back. She passed away today due to worsened complications.
Meanwhile ministry secretaries and heads of departments in all government establishments have been informed not to request pregnant mothers to attend work. (NewsWire)
