State Minister Prof. Channa Jayasumana says that the Government is looking into the possibility of treating asymptomatic Covid 19 patients within their homes.

Minister said they if the patients number continues to increase Government will look to treat asymptomatic patients at home.

“There are a certain number of patients currently in their homes, especially those who don’t show severe symptoms. We are swiftly working on providing hospitals for these patients.” The state minister said.

“We are also looking into the possibility of continuing treatment of patients who are asymptomatic and those who do not have complications within their homes and only to admit to a hospital in case of an emergency.” He further went on to say.

State Minister of COVID Prevention Sudarshini Fernandopulle told reporters earlier this week that health ministry officials are currently forming guidelines on how to give treatments and how a patient should behave if they are treated at home.

Currently all Covid patients reported in Sri Lanka are taken to a Covid intermediate treatment facility.(NewsWire)
