A 63-year-old man has died after being assaulted by his son over a personal dispute, in Veyangoda on Saturday (08).
The Police said the 32-year-old suspect has been arrested following a complaint filed by his sister.
The sister has informed the Police that the suspect had arrived at their residence and had threatened the father over a land dispute.
Urging the elderly man not to write off his land to the daughter, the son is said to have assaulted and pushed the man, following which the latter had sustained injuries.
The elderly man had died after being admitted to the Wathupitiwala Hospital. The postmortem into the death will be conducted today.
The Veyangoda Police is conducting further investigations into the incident. (NewsWire)
