Body of SL domestic worker, hacked to death in Kuwait, brought down

The body of a Sri Lankan domestic worker, who was hacked to death in Kuwait, has been brought down to Sri Lanka.

The Police said the body of the woman was brought down via Qatar Airways last morning.

Preliminary investigations have found that the woman, who is a resident of Mahawa, had left for Kuwait for employment in 2019.

She has reportedly been hacked to death by an Ethiopian housemaid on 13th April 2021, while in Kuwait.

The Magisterial inquiry into the death has been conducted by the Negombo Magistrate’s court, while the autopsy is to be conducted today.

The Katunayake Police is conducting further investigations into the matter. (NewsWire)
