Six more defendants acquitted from DA Rajapaksa Museum case

Six more defendants in the case related to the D. A. Rajapaksa Museum in Medamulana were acquitted by the court today.

The Colombo Permanent High Court at Bar acquitted and released the suspects from the case.

A case was filed against President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and several others over an allegation that the D.A.Rajapaksa Museum and Memorial in Medamulana was built using public funds amounting to Rs.33.9 million.

In November 2019, President Rajapaksa was released by the Colombo Permanent High Court-at-Bar from a case.

The Trial-at-Bar bench also ordered to terminate case proceedings against President Gotabaya Rajapaksa after taking into consideration the Constitutional immunity of the President from the suit. (NewsWire)
