A 62-year-old man has been arrested for stealing copper wires used for train compartments belonging to the Railway Department.
Based on a complaint filed in this regard, the Dematagoda Police had arrested the suspect who is a resident of Baseline Road in Colombo.
The Police said the stolen goods, which are valued at Rs. 300,000, were recovered following the arrest of the suspect.
The suspect has been remanded after being produced before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Further Investigations by the Dematagoda Police have revealed that the man is addicted to drugs. (NewsWire)
