Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma has backed Sri Lanka cricketer Angelo Mathews’ project related to the Lady Ridgeway Hospital (LRH) for Children in Colombo.
In a statement, Mathews said he will take over the responsibility to fund and find donors for the ‘Little Hearts’ project which is a national fundraising project to build a Cardiac and Critical Care Complex at the LRH.
Stating that the project is valued at Rs. 2 billion, Mathews said just over Rs. 500 million has been raised thus far.
Commending Mathews for his initiative, India’s Rohit Sharma tweeted “ Superb initiative my friend, I wish you the best @Angelo69Mathews.”
Apart from Rohith Sharma several other international cricket stars had also backed the initiative. (NewsWire)
