A record 515, 830 COVID-19 vaccines were administered in Sri Lanka yesterday making it the highest number of doses to be provided in a single day in the country.
State Minister Channa Jayasumana said this was the first time the vaccination drive had surpassed the 500, 000 doses per day margin in Sri Lanka.
He further said 418, 494 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine were administered as the first dose, while 56,738 doses were provided as the second dose.
A total of 38, 430 doses of the Pfizer vaccine and 2,168 doses of the Moderna vaccine were also provided during this period. (NewsWire)
