Two men remanded for defrauding Rs. 3.1M promising jobs in South Korea

Two men have been arrested by the Kandy Special Crimes Unit for defrauding Rs. 3.1 million from two others by promising jobs in South Korea. 

The Police said the suspects had obtained Rs. 3.1 million from the two victims promising to obtain jobs in South Korea and had later disappeared with the money. 

The suspects, aged 55 and 26, had claimed they were residents of Peradeniya, Ja- Ela, Negombo, and Muruthalawa.

They have been remanded till 7th August after being produced before the Kandy Magistrate’s Court yesterday. 

The Kandy Police is conducting further investigations into the matter. (NewsWire)
