India’s Neeraj Chopra unleashed a mighty 87.58m to win the men’s javelin throw in Tokyo Olympics 2020.
He is the first Indian athlete in history to win an Olympic gold medal in Athletics.
This is the first Athletics Olympics medal for a South Asian Athlete since Sri Lanka’s Susanthika Jayasinghe won a Silver medal (200m) in the Sydney2000 Olympics.
Neeraj Chopra is also the 4th South Asian to win any medal in Olympics athletics.
