Health authorities have admitted that there are flaws in the COVID-19 patient statistics released to the media.
Ministry of Health officially reported 3,615 Covid infections from Gampaha District within the last 9 days, but local officials stated that 12,750 patients have been reported from the Gampaha District during that period.
According to media reports, the Health Minister has ordered an inquiry into the loss of records of over 8,000 Covid patients.
A similar issue had also been reported with Covid statistics in the Eastern Province as well. (NewsWire)
