Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga (CBK) today slammed a journalist for asking an inappropriate question while she had attended an event to pay her respects to the Late Mangala Samaraweera.
Samaraweera’s family had organized several religious observances to mark three months of the passing of the renowned Sri Lankan politician.
The former President had attended an event that was held today at the ‘Respect’ Jayaratne VIP Parlour in Colombo-08.
After paying her final respects and upon leaving the premises, a journalist had posed a question on the decision to commence the import of fertilizers.
Responding to the question, Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga slammed the journalist for posing a political question at an event held to commemorate a person.
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa too had slammed a journalist for a similar incident during the tenure of the Yahapalana Government, calling on journalists not to pose political questions at funerals. (NewsWire)
