Six individuals have been arrested in Rajagiriya on charges of having assaulted a group of Police officers and seriously injuring them in the North in October.
The Police said the suspects had assaulted the officers from the Dharmapuram Police station after they had arrived in the Piramandara area in Dharmapuram to break out a clash that had occurred between two groups on the 4th of October.
One Police officer had been hospitalized with serious injuries and the Police had launched an investigation to apprehend the suspects involved in the assault.
Officers from the Western Province North Crimes Division had arrested the suspects while working in a construction site in the Rajagiriya area.
The Police said the suspects will be produced before the Nugegoda Magistrate’s Court today. (NewsWire)
