Bhanuka Rajapaksa : No truth in social media reports

Reports claiming that Sri Lanka cricketer Bhanuka Rajapaksa has withdrawn his decision to retire from international cricket are false, NewsWire learns.

According to Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) sources, there is no change in Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s decision to retire from all forms of international cricket.

On Wednesday (05), Bhanuka Rajapaksa announced that he has decided to retire from international cricket.

The SLC said Rajapaksa had handed over his letter of retirement to the cricket administration on Monday (03).

In his letter of retirement, the cricketer has reportedly mentioned that he will not be able to play cricket with the latest fitness standards introduced by the SLC especially the skinfold levels.

Bhanuka Rajapaksa said he believes he will not be able to do his power-hitting in case he further brings down his skinfold levels.

Despite, the cricketer wanting to retire, several parties including former cricketers and fans have called on the young cricketer to reconsider his decision.

His fans have also started the #dontretirebhanuka calling on him to continue playing for the country. (NewsWire)
