Sri Lanka Central bank has sold over half of its gold reserve to boost official reserves in December, official data show.
Gold reserves valued at $382.2 million at the end of November, has plummeted 54.1% to 175.4 miliom by end December.
According to CB’s Weekly Economic Indicators as on 7/1/22, CB has reduced gold reserve from $382mn to $175mn (sale of about 3mt) during Dec;CB had sold 13MT in 2/2020 reducing gold reserve to 6mt;
