U Turn : Decision to remove Litro Gas chairman reversed

The decision taken to remove Chairman of Litro Gas Lanka Theshara Jayasinghe from his post has been revoked on the instructions of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, The Mawbima newspaper reported.

According to Government sources, the President had issued the instruction to the Secretary to the Finance Ministry during his inspection tour of the Litro Gas Storage Terminal in Kerawalapitiya today.

In a letter to the Sri Lanka Insurance Secretary yesterday (12), Finance Ministry Secretary S. R. Attygalle had informed that a decision has been taken to remove Theshara Jayasinghe from his post as Litro Gas Lanka Chairman.

The letter also stated that it has been decided to appoint Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Administrative Secretary Renuka Perera to replace Jayasinghe.

When inquired in this regard, Renuka Perera had confirmed that he has been informed in this regard by the Finance Ministry.

However, the decision has now been revoked on the instructions of President Rajapaksa. (NewsWire)
