Three Police officers have been hospitalized after sustaining injuries in a brawl that had broken out between a group of Police officers in the Warakapola area.
According to Mawbima, the Police officers had been returning after attending the wedding of a friend when the brawl had broken out.
A passer-by who had witnessed the event had informed the Police emergency hotline after which the Warakapola Police had arrived at the scene and had broken up the fight.
Officers from the Bribery Commission and the Administrative Division of Gampaha and Chilaw had thus engaged in the brawl.
Initial reports say the Police officers had been under the influence of alcohol and an argument had escalated resulting in the brawl.
Two of the Police officers involved in the brawl who are Officers-in-Charge (OIC) of the Police Traffic Division are said to have sustained injuries in the incident. (NewsWire)
