The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has commenced imposing power cuts for Colombo City with immediate effect, the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) announced today.

The Commission said that a 3-hour power cut will be imposed in the morning, while a one-hour power cut will take place at night.

The PUCSL has requested the residents of Colombo to refer to the schedule of areas P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, and W for the above-mentioned power cuts.

Earlier, complaints had been raised by several people claiming that power cuts have not been imposed in Colombo City, despite other areas experiencing power disruptions for nearly 07-hours.

The PUCSL had also earlier called on the CEB to implement power cuts in fairness and to include Colombo City as announced.

The Commission has now announced that power cuts similar to that of other areas will be imposed in Colombo as well with immediate effect.

The PUCSL added that power cuts will be imposed in the morning and night in Colombo City tomorrow as well. (NewsWire)
