Power crisis : Basil’s letter to SLPP local representatives

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) has issued a directive to all local councils pertaining to the current power crisis. 

In a letter, the National Organizer of the party Basil Rajapaksa has requested the local councils to refrain from switching on all lampposts on the roads under their divisions from today till the 31st of March. 

MP Rajapaksa has issued the directive with an aim to reduce the excessive use of power during the current power crisis. 

Pointing out that due to the drought season the Hydropower plants are completely inactive, he said diesel and furnace oil are being utilized to operate power plants. 

He further pointed out that world crude oil prices have reached high prices, further affecting Sri Lanka. 

Thereby, all local councils have been instructed to take necessary measures to reduce the excessive use of electricity. (NewsWire)
