Missing activist Anurudda Bandara in Police Custody

Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission has informed the Young Journalist Association that activist Anurudda Bandara is in Police Custody.

“The Modara Crime Division has informed the Human Rights Commission that they have Anurudda Bandara in their custody” Journalist Tharindu Jayawardena said.

SJB MP Manusha Nanayakkara also confirmed that Anurudda Bandara is in Police custody. MP said that Police informed him that the activist will be produced in court later today.

“He is arrested for running a Facebook page called Gota Go Home” MP Manusha Nanayakkara said.

“Police sources said he will be charged under section 120 of the Sri Lankan Penal Code, which makes it an offence to excite or attempt to excite feelings of disaffection to the State, we will fight against this, they can’t arrest people like this” MP Nanayakkara added.
