Several public protests commence

Public protests against President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and his Government have commenced in several areas of Sri Lanka today as well.

A peaceful public protest is underway near the Ragama Railway Station, with a large number of people holding placards and chanting for the President to resign. 

Heavy traffic has been reported in the Ja- Ela Town due to a protest by the public against the worsening economy of the country. 

Peaceful public protests are also underway near the Panadura bus stand and Nittambuwa Town.

The Galle – Matara Road has been blocked in front of the Galle bus stand due to a public protest.

A Protest is underway at Welimada Town obstructing the main road between Badulla and Nuwara Eliya.
