Newly-appointed Minister of Finance Ali Sabry has resigned from his new portfolio.
Sabry was part of the four-member temporary Cabinet that was appointed by the President yesterday in the midst of the public protests against the Government over the economic crisis.
In a letter addressed to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Minister Sabry informed of his decision to step down from his portfolio as Minister of Finance.
MP Ali Sabry has also offered to resign from his National List MP post so the President could appoint a suitable person to handle the situation outside the current Parliament.
