The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has opened up a portal for the donation of medicines and consumables in the wake of a healthcare crisis amidst the worsening economic crisis in Sri Lanka.

In a statement, the GMOA said due to poor financial and economic management, the Sri Lankan healthcare sector is on the verge of a severe crisis in saving the lives of patients caused by severe drug and equipment shortages.

“We need your generous support at this crucial time to continue the patient care services in Sri Lanka,” it further said.

The GMOA added that it is ready to ensure transparent coordination and direction of the donations of medicines and equipment to hospitals for the patient care within the quality assurance mechanism for drugs and equipment of the Ministry of Health.
