Three individuals have been arrested over the recent sexual harassment of a female German YouTuber in Kandy.
The incident had caused an uproar on social media after it was captured on camera by the woman and her Irish male companion.
The suspects were arrested by the Kandy Tourist Police yesterday (24) and have been identified as residents of Katugastota.
The Irish-German couple was harassed in the streets of Kandy by the individuals in question on Thursday (21) night.
The incident had been video recorded by the German vlogger named Mado and was later uploaded to their Youtube channel ‘Glen&Mado’ which went viral on social media.
Sri Lankan social media users condemned the incident and urged the Police to take action against the suspects.
Following a public uproar, the Police tracked down the suspects and arrested them, while a special investigation has been launched into the incident. (NewsWire)
