Ranil agrees to 06 points in Patali’s letter

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has responded to a letter put forward by opposition MP Patali Champika Ranawaka on the way forward for the country. 

In his letter, Prime Minister Wickremesinghe said he agrees to 06 of the points that have been addressed by MP Ranawaka. 

The Prime Minister said a discussion will be held with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Party Leaders on the future course of action after the 21st Amendment to the Constitution has been presented in Parliament. 

The assistance of foreign specialists can be arranged if required pertaining to the investigations into the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks, he further said. 

The Prime Minister also said a special committee will also be appointed to look into incorporating the electoral system in European countries to address the issues faced due to the existing electoral system in Sri Lanka.

Ranil Wickremesinghe further pointed out that it was essential for all parties to join together to appoint an all-party National Assembly to immediately address the issues in the country. (NewsWire)
