The death toll from Sri Lanka’s unrest in May has risen to 10, with the death of a 47-year-old man today.
The deceased is reported to have died today while receiving treatment for assault injuries to his head and chest at the Colombo National Hospital.
The Individual had been admitted to the hospital after being assaulted by the public along the pavement between Perahera Mawatha and Beira Lake in Colombo.
Unrest broke out after SLPP loyalists attacked anti-government protesters near the Temple Trees and the Galle Face Green in Colombo, following a meeting with then Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. (NewsWire)
