The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) says it will initiate action against party members who have joined the incumbent government.
SJB MP Lakshman Kiriella informed Parliament today that the SJB will take disciplinary action against members of the party that join the government.
His comments come after SJB MPs Harin Fernando and Manusha Nanayakkara were appointed as Cabinet Ministers under the government led by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Harin Fernando was sworn in as the Minister of Tourism and Land, while Manusha Nanayakkara was appointed as the Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment before the President today.
The two MPs have extended their support to the government at a time when their party, Samagi Jana Balawegaya, has rejected an invitation to form an all-party government under the current presidency. (NewsWire)
