President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will act as the Finance Minister until a Minister is appointed to the post, Cabinet Spokesman Minister Kanchana Wijesekara said today.
Sri Lanka has not yet appointed a Finance Minister after the Cabinet was dissolved on May 9th, 2022.
Former Finance Minister Ali Sabry has reportedly declined an invitation to be appointed as the Finance Minister once again.
Meanwhile, Minister Harin Fernando said that he believes that the position has been still kept vacant for Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Harsha De Silva.
MP Harsha de Silva has refused to accept the position but Minister Harin Fernando said the Parliamentarian should reconsider his decision for the benefit of the country. (NewsWire)
