An Extraordinary Gazette notification has been issued on institutions, scopes, and functions of Ministries.
The Gazette pertains to the following 26 Ministries:
- Defence
- Finance, Economic Stability, and National Policies
- Ports, Shipping, and Aviation
- Foreign Affairs
- Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils, and Local Government
- Fisheries
- Education
- Transport and Highways
- Mass Media
- Health
- Water Supply
- Agriculture
- Wildlife and Forest Resources Conservation
- Justice, Prison Affairs, and Constitutional Reforms
- Tourism and Lands
- Plantations
- Industries
- Urban Development and Housing
- Buddhashasana, Religious, and Cultural Affairs
- Power and Energy
- Environment
- Sports and Youth Affairs
- Irrigation
- Labour and Foreign Employment
- Public Security
- Trade, Commerce, and Food Security
The only notable change is that Sri Lanka Telecom has been Gazetted under the Ministry of Defence which comes under the purview of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI) and the Port City Economic Commission have also been brought under the purview of the Defence Ministry. (NewsWire)
