The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has issued a clarification on reports circulating on social media on a dispute between the Governor of the bank and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Issuing a statement on Twitter, the CBSL said that Governor, Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe rejects the social media reports.
The bank said it has been notified of the various reports, adding that “the Governor vehemently rejects such assertions.”
The Governor further reiterates the cordial relationship between him and the Prime Minister continues in every respect to restoring the Sri Lankan economy, the CBSL added. (NewsWire)
