Three Police officers remanded over murder incident that took place 13 years ago

Three Police officials, including the Officer-in-Charge of the Wilachchiya Police Station, have been remanded over a death that had occurred 13 years ago.

The Colombo Chief Magistrate had ordered for the OIC, Senior Inspector, and Seargeant to be remanded till the 28th of June, according to Daily News

The suspects were arrested on charges of having shot to death a suspect, Sandun Lasitha Kumara Vithana, who was to be detained on a court order.

The officers from the Badalgama Police Station had shot the suspect near the Maligawatte Railway Housing Scheme within the Keselwatte Police Division, 13 years ago.

The three Police officers have been arrested and remanded on the instructions of the Attorney General. (NewsWire)
