The Sri Lanka Army has begun an internal investigation after a video of an Army officer assaulting a civilian at a fuel station went viral on social media.
Meanwhile, Opposition Leader MP Sajith Premadasa has condemned the attack, stating “an unresisting man was assaulted by an officer violently”.
MP Premadasa pointed out that there was no Rule of Law, adding that aggression continues on supported at the top. (NewsWire)
An unresisting man was assaulted by an officer violently, and what’s worse, the other officers just watch. There is no rule of law.Either the officer’s actions will be justified or he will be suspended for a while but the violence, and the aggression continue on supported at the top https://t.co/lJ229Vm59H
