Australia cricketer David Warner has thanked Sri Lanka for hosting the Australian Men’s national cricket team ‘during what is an extremely difficult time’.

In a message on Instagram, the cricketer said the Australian cricket team is grateful to be able to come to Sri Lanka and play the game they love.

“What I love about your amazing country is no matter the circumstances you always have a smile on your face and are always so welcoming,” he said.

David Warner added that Sri Lanka has opened its arms to the Australian team and that they will never forget this trip.

Meanwhile, Australian Test skipper Pat Cummins said the team could not really escape from the sounds of the anti-government protests staged outside the Galle Cricket Stadium.

“You could just hear kind of when it changed from a protest to a party. Chatting to some of the staff and drivers at the hotel, we realize the hardships of the people and it is really tough,” he added. (NewsWire)
