Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekara has given an update on the fuel shipment arrived to the country and future shipments expected to arrive in the next few days.
One diesel consignment has already arrived in the country early morning today (16) and quality and sample checking is currently underway, he said.
The minister said that another diesel shipment is scheduled to arrive later today.
He further said that a petrol shipment is due to arrive in the country next week between the 18th – 19th July.
Kanchana Wijesekara also said that payments have already been made in full for all three fuel consignments.
Meanwhile, Public urged NOT to queue up for fuel at Ceypetco filling stations as distribution will begin only once the fuel pass system is in place, despite shipment of fuel being received, Minister added. (NewsWire)
