Galle Face attack : Sri Lanka Police statement

The Sri Lanka Police says a special team comprising Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO) and fingerprint officers has been set up to obtain scientific evidence of any crimes committed at the Presidential Secretariat premises. 

Issuing a statement, they said a special operation was conducted jointly with the tri-forces and the Police Special Task Force (STF) early this morning to clear protesters who were illegally occupying the Presidential Secretariat, its main entrance, and the vicinity. 

09 people have been arrested and two among them have sustained minor injuries and have been admitted to hospital.

The arrested individuals are residents of Kelaniya, Embilipitiya, Ja-Ela, Ratnapura, Sevanagala, Wellampitiya, Pitigala, Wadduwa, and Nugegoda, and aged between 26 to 58 years. 

The Police further said that the suspects will be produced in court today. (NewsWire)
