The travel ban that was imposed on former Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) Ajith Nivard Cabraal has been further extended.

The Colombo Magistrate’s Court today extended the travel ban until the 26th of October 2022.

In April 2022, the court had initially issued an order preventing Cabraal from leaving the country.

Thereafter, the travel ban imposed on the former Central Bank Governor has been continuously extended.

The travel ban was first issued after a complaint had been filed by former Governor Keerthi Tennakooon accusing Cabraal of misusing public funds during his tenure as the Governor of the CBSL. (NewsWire)
