Four (04) writ applications that were filed before the Court of Appeal pertaining to an order by the Police with regard to anti-government protesters have been withdrawn.
The petitions had been filed calling on the court to suspend the order by the Police for protestors to vacate the Galle Face protest site.
The applicants have withdrawn the four writ applications that were filed before the Court of Appeal.
They have also informed the authorities that they will vacate the Galle Face protest site.
Leading protesters have announced that they will be leaving the protest site from today.
Attorney Manoj Nanayakkara said protesters have reached a collective decision to vacate the Galle Face protest site.
He said however protesters vacating the area does not translate to the end of the struggle.(NewsWire)
