A group of 124 Sri Lankans left for South Korea last night making it the 732nd group to leave for employment in the country.

The Minister of Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara said the Sri Lankan migrant workers departed for jobs in the manufacturing sector.

“Although it was possible to send more workers for jobs in the manufacturing sector, there was less opportunity for jobs in the fishing sector in the past. I discussed this with Mr. Lee, the country director of the Korean Human Resources Department,” the Minister said.

He further said that accordingly, Sri Lanka will receive 1047 jobs in the fishing sector in the future.

Stating that the examination for the said job sector will be held in October, the Minister said the issuance of related applications has commenced. (NewsWire)
