The damage caused to the Galle Face Green in Colombo by a faction of the anti-government protesters has been estimated at over Rs. 6 million, Minister of Ports and Aviation Nimal Siripala de Silva said today.
Speaking to reporters, he said that shops, benches, walls, and other structures erected by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) at the Galle Face Green have been damaged.
The Minister further said that the SLPA will have to bear the expenses of renovation before handing it over to vendors to resume operations.
Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva made the statement while engaging in an inspection tour of the Galle Face Green to ascertain the damages caused during the anti-government protests. (NewsWire)
