A 57-year-old woman has been killed in an accident that was reported on the Outer Circular Highway in the Athurugiriya area this morning.
The Police said a van and jeep that were travelling in the direction from Galle to Athurugiriya had collided between the 3.9 km post and 4.1 km post.
The driver of the jeep and another individual, and five women who were travelling in the van who were injured in the accident had been admitted to the Homagama Hospital.
However, one female passenger of the van succumbed to injuries after being admitted to the hospital.
The victim has been identified as a 57-year-old mother of two and a resident of Malabe.
The Athurugiriya Police is conducting further investigations into the accident. (NewsWire)
