Three persons have been seriously injured after a vehicle crashed into them while they were seated on the doorstep of a store on 4th Cross Street in Pettah last evening.
The Fort Police said that the injured individuals have been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.
Investigations have revealed that the owner of the vehicle had stepped out of the vehicle, during which the person looking after the vehicle had stepped on the accelerator instead of the brakes resulting in the accident.
Four labourers had been seated on the doorstep of the store at the time of the accident, while one of them had jumped away to save himself.
The Fort Police said all three injured men have sustained serious injuries to their feet.
